United Spinal had a great meeting with Congresswoman Cathy McMorris Rodgers, recipient of our 2014 Junius A. Kellogg Outstanding Congressional Leadership Award at this year’s Roll on Capitol Hill (ROCH) for her extensive leadership and vocal support of disability issues.

United Spinal talked about legislative strategy on making the Achieving a Better Life Experience Act of 2013 (ABLE Act) law, an issue we advocated for at ROCH.

We also talked about working together on improving consumer access to health through information technology and telemedicine as well as assistive technology and complex rehab equipment, all of which are critical to the spinal cord injury/disorder and disability community.

One of our top veterans’ focused priorities is increasing access to family caregiver supports through VA for veterans of all eras living with significant disabilities. We seek to foster an environment that leads to expanded job opportunities for disabled veterans.
