WASHINGTON - Holiday shoppers seeking online deals and discounts just got an early present: extended free and discounted shipping from the United States Mint. On the heels of its recently launched Cyber Week shopping promotion, the Mint has extended the offer, which includes free and discounted shipping for online purchases, for one additional week.

"We saw consumers respond to our initial free shipping promotion and wanted to extend the offer to our loyal and new shoppers just in time for the holidays," said United States Mint Deputy Director Richard A. Peterson.

As part of its extended Cyber Week shopping promotion, the Mint is now offering free standard shipping and reducing the cost of expedited shipping by $4.95 on all domestic web orders placed through Friday, December 13 at 5:00 p.m. Eastern Time. The original offer was to close on December 6.

"With the shortened holiday shopping season, we hope this deal serves as added incentive to shop the Mint's beautiful coins and medals, which are perfect for gift giving," said Peterson.
