BROOKINGS, S.D. – Oct. 12, 2010 – Daktronics Inc. (Nasdaq-DAKT) of Brookings, S.D., announced today that the University of Mississippi has chosen the company to design, manufacture and install integrated systems throughout their campus.

“We are excited about the new video boards for basketball, baseball and softball as well as new scoreboards for indoor and outdoor tennis,” said Ole Miss Senior Executive Associate Athletics Director John Hartwell. “Video and LED displays are an integral piece to our continued and concentrated effort to enhance the game day experience in all of our sports for our student-athletes, coaches and fans.”

C.M. Tad Smith Coliseum will see upgrades with a unique centerhung display, featuring four LED video displays measuring approximately seven feet high by 13 feet wide with 10 millimeter pixel layout. Two ring displays, featuring 15 millimeter pixel layout, are also part of the centerhung structure and will be able to show a variety of graphics, animations and statistical information. Overall the display will measure approximately 17 feet high by 24 feet wide and will also feature four dedicated scoring sections. Daktronics will be providing a custom Vortek® 8,000 pound capacity hoist system as well.

In addition, Daktronics will be providing a custom sound system for the arena. When combined with the video display, the new Sportsound® system will deliver pounding bass energy, smooth mid and high range frequencies and high impact entertainment through the integration of audio, video and scoring technologies. The system uses the latest in digital audio technology, and it also operates on reduced power thanks to more efficient digital amplifiers and power supplies.

The Palmer/Salloum Tennis Center will receive a tennis scoreboard with an electronic message display, as well as six single court tennis scoreboards, while the Gillom Sports Center will receive three custom outdoor tennis scoreboards.

The Ole Miss Softball Complex will soon feature a 23 millimeter light emitting diode (LED) video display. The display measures approximately 13 feet high by 23 feet wide and will have the ability to showcase live and recorded video images, colorful animation and vivid graphics with incredible brightness and wide-angle visibility.

Oxford-University Stadium/Swayze Field will be home to a new video display that will utilize Daktronics newest 15 millimeter LED technology, featuring a tighter resolution and improved image quality. The display will measure approximately 23 feet high by 36 feet wide. This technology and its control system allow for complete flexibility in programming. The video board can operate as a single giant display or be divided into multiple zones (windows) to show a wide variety of statistics, information, graphics, animation and live and recorded video.

“Daktronics is excited to partner with the University of Mississippi to bring our state-of-the-art scoring and video equipment to their campus,” said Jay Parker, Daktronics national sales manager. “These new systems will provide excitement and entertainment at Ole Miss athletic venues for years to come.”

Two double-faced marquees will be installed at the major intersections on campus and will feature Daktronics video messaging technology with a 16 millimeter pixel layout. Students, athletes, faculty and fans will be informed of upcoming events and other on campus activities through superior graphic images and wide viewing angles.

The home of Ole Miss basketball is C.M. "Tad" Smith Coliseum, and the Coliseum has become one of the toughest arenas in the country for opponents to play. Named for the legendary Ole Miss athlete, coach and athletics director, the Coliseum opened in 1966.

The University of Mississippi's Palmer/Salloum Tennis Center ranks as one of the nation's finest collegiate facilities. It was completed in 1990 and has served as host to the SEC Championships, Women's ITA South Regional Championships, the USTA National Interscholastic Championships and NCAA Men's and Women's Regionals.

In the spring of 1996, ground was broken for the construction of a new multi-sport facility, and in July 1997, the complex, the Gillom Sports Center, ushered in a new era in women's athletics at Ole Miss.
With the recent face-lift of the Ole Miss Softball Complex, the Rebels boast one of the premier softball facilities in the Southeastern Conference, and in the nation.

The 2011 season marks the Ole Miss Rebels' 23rd year of calling the friendly confines of Oxford-University Stadium/Swayze Field home.
