The University of Western Australia is one of only 10 universities worldwide to be awarded a "Five Stars Plus" rating in the QS Stars University Rankings.

UWA achieved the rating across research, internationalisation, innovation, employability, teaching, facilities, specialist criteria and access.

Pro Vice-Chancellor (International) Iain Watt said it was pleasing to see that the efforts of the entire University community had been recognised.

"UWA is proud to be rated as a 5 Star Plus University by QS and this rating reinforces our world-class reputation against an internationally recognised benchmark," Mr Watt said.

He will accept the award on behalf of UWA at a formal ceremony in Prague in September.

The QS Star system evaluates an individual institution's performance against a range of important performance indicators and measures it against pre-set thresholds.  Universities must be awarded Five Stars in all categories and a total score of at least 900 out of a possible 1000 to achieve Five Stars Plus status.
