– Vangent, Inc., a leading global provider of information management and strategic business process outsourcing solutions, announced today it was awarded a contract from the U.S. Office of Personnel Management to provide Open Season Services as part of  the Federal Employee Health Benefits (FEHB) Program.  This contract extends Vangent’s 24-year partnership with the agency.

Vangent was awarded the contract, valued at $15 million over five years, to provide a range of services in support of the FEHB Open Season, when federal employees and annuitants have the opportunity to change their health plan options and enrollments. The U.S. Office of Personnel Management administers the health and life insurance benefits for federal annuitants and survivors under the Civil Service Retirement and the Federal Employees Retirement systems via the FEHB, the world's largest voluntary employer-sponsored health benefits insurance program, which covers about 9 million individuals.

Under this contract, Vangent will enhance web and IVR capabilities for self-service during the open season enrollment period.  It will also be responsible for disseminating printed collateral, such as Federal Employees Dental and Vision Insurance Program (FEDVIP) notifications, and conducting large-scale mailings.

Leveraging its business process outsourcing expertise, Vangent will process enrollment changes and information requests and provide the associated information to OPM and various health plans.  Similarly, it will provide management information system data and reports to the OPM regularly and receive and transmit encrypted data electronically.  Vangent will also supply an end-to-end CRM solution by developing, managing, and staffing a call center to respond to annuitants’ inquires.

“Vangent is utilizing much of its expertise to provide these open season services for the FEHB Program that will make open enrollment easier for federal workers and their families,” said Mac Curtis, president and CEO of Vangent, Inc. “Vangent is excited to continue our outstanding service to our nation’s federal employees and retirees, while also further developing our longstanding relationship with the OPM and the Open Season Program.”

Vangent is #4 on Washington Technology’s 2009 list of companies in the IT Services industry sector and is ranked #52 on Washington Technology’s list of Top 100 Federal Government Prime Contactors. Vangent is included on The Washington Post’s annual Top 200 list.
