VCU Gets New Daktronics LED Scorer's Tables at Siegel Center

BROOKINGS, S.D. – Oct. 19, 2010 – Daktronics Inc. (Nasdaq-DAKT) of Brookings, S.D., today announced that it will provide new integrated light emitting diode (LED)courtside scorer’s tablesfor the Verizon Wireless Arena at the Stuart C. Siegel Center in Richmond, Va., home to Virginia Commonwealth University’s men’s and women’sbasketballandvolleyball.


“The newscorer’s tableswill add to the excitement at VCU games,” Associate Athletic Director for Corporate Partnerships Robby Robinson said. “They provide another vehicle to promote and entertain our fans and provide a unique experience for all of the events at the Verizon Wireless Arena.”



The four scorer’s tables that will be installed in the arena will feature 10mm line spacing and combine Daktronics proven LED technology with industry-leading quality. Combined, the tables will measure three feet high by more than 36 feet wide. The tables will immediately update patrons and players with scoring and other game information and showcase sponsors to the cheering fans filling the arena.



“These tables will be fullyintegratedwith the other equipment already in Verizon Wireless Arena,” Arthur Portnoy, Daktronics Sales, said. “They will add to the experience for VCU fans, and we are very pleased to be working with VCU for this project.”

With a basketball capacity of 7,500, the Verizon Wireless Arena is known as one of the loudest arenas on the East Coast. The $30.1 million, nearly 200,000 square foot facility opened its doors in May 1999 and is located in the heart of Richmond, Va. Its purpose is to provide a quality multipurpose indoor facility that can accommodate Division I NCAA athletics and serve as a general-purpose assembly space for a variety of special events.
