Verrus Simplifies Meeting PCI DSS Compliance with Solidcore
Dials Up Solidcore's QSA Recommended Software for Continuous File Integrity Monitoring, Network Auditing and PCI Compliance Reporting
CUPERTINO, Calif., Feb. 9, 2009 — Solidcore Systems, Inc., a leader in protecting critical IT infrastructure from devices to the data center, today announced Verrus Mobile Technologies, Inc., a leading provider of mobile phone payment services, has selected the Solidcore S3 Control PCI Pro edition to quickly and easily meet the file integrity monitoring and audit trail requirements of the Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard (PCI DSS).
Verrus processes millions of pay-by-phone credit and debit card transactions, and the organization needed to simplify the effort and lower the cost for meeting PCI DSS requirements. Verrus identified Solidcore PCI Pro as the ideal solution that provides the following:
Network Configuration Management
Verrus uses Solidcore PCI Pro to perform real-time auditing and configuration assessment of all changes made to network devices. This has dramatically reduced the manual effort that was required to meet the requirements of PCI DSS section 1.
Comprehensive Audit Trails
Verrus uses Solidcore PCI Pro to track database schema, data changes, and any changes to roles, users or permissions. PCI Pro audits database access (SELECT statements), and can identify the user or program that queries sensitive cardholder data. This gives Verrus the comprehensive data necessary to easily meet the requirements of PCI DSS section 10.
Continuous File Integrity Monitoring
Verrus uses Solidcore PCI Pro for “continuous” file integrity monitoring that captures all changes to files and allows Verrus administrators to quickly identify where PCI compliance policies are being challenged. PCI Pro alerts administrators to compliance violations and captures specific details about every change event on payment systems, including the exact time of a change. This allows Verrus to easily and more-effectively meet the file integrity monitoring requirements of PCI DSS sections 10 and 11.
“Keeping up with the PCI compliance requirements can be challenging without the right tools, especially file integrity monitoring, which requires constant visibility over the infrastructure,” said Darren Stone, CIO for Verrus Mobile Technologies. “Solidcore rose to the occasion with its PCI Pro product, which installed quickly and gave us improved levels of detail about what is happening to critical files across our IT environment.”
“The only way to properly address the file integrity monitoring and auditing mandates of the PCI DSS is to track your critical files on a continuous basis, otherwise, you cannot be certain your compliance posture is water-tight,” said Jill Kyte, vice president of marketing and business development for Solidcore. “Solidcore pioneered continuous file integrity monitoring technology, and with PCI Pro we are taking the leg-work and guess-work out of meeting these challenging requirements.”
