Viet Cong Cu Chi Tunnels Attract Tourists

Many tourists who come to Saigon (Ho Chi Minh City) are attracted by the nearby Cu Chi Tunnels. Luxury Travel To Lauch Tours Cu Chi Tunnels.

Vietnam is one of Asian most rapidly developing countries. Its economy has been growing in the recent years, the level of services has improved and the potential of local tourist industry has massively increased.

Even though the Vietnam War left the country and its people in a terrible state, it appears that the painful memories are gradually settling down and the Vietnamese are ready to tell their stories to the world. Many tourists who come to Saigon (Ho Chi Minh City) are attracted by the nearby Cu Chi Tunnels.
After pick-up at hotel in Saigon, guests enjoy a half day or full day excursion to the famous Cu Chi tunnels. This network of tunnels, which stretched for over 200km, became legendary during the 1960s.

The Cu Chi tunnels played a vital part in the U.S.-Vietnam War in that they allowed the Viet Cong to control a large rural area only 30 to 40 km from former Saigon.
At its height, the tunnel system stretched from Saigon to the Cambodian border. The network, parts of which were several levels deep, included innumerable trap doors, specially constructed living areas, storage facilities, weapons factories, field hospitals, command centres and kitchens.

Today the remaining tunnels have become a major tourist attraction giving the visitor a unique experience and feel of what underground life during the war must have been like. The tunnels have been widened for our benefit (otherwise we would not be able to enter them!) For those interested there's even the opportunity to fire off rounds from an AK47 or MK16 at the nearby rifle range.

“I recommend all our guests to visit the Ben Duoc Area for an authentic view of tunnels and this amazing net work underground” said Alan Hoang, Travel Advisor in Luxury Travel’s Saigon Office.

“We would have no hesitation at all in recommending Luxury Travel company and services to our friends and colleagues at the embassy. Of all the wonderful places that we were taken to I think that Cu Chi tunnels made the greatest impact as we came to realize the awful conditions that were endured by those who want their freedom” Malcolm and Franc Surman, UK Embassy, Bangkok, Thailand said.

Upon request, Luxury Travel arranges a waterway to Cu Chi Tunnels or a cycling tour from Saigon. To book this package please check it out at www.luxurytravelvietnam.com
