High performance visual fault locator finds fiber faults in fiber jumpers, patch panels, enclosures, connectors and couplers.

Toronto, Canada – GAO Comm has announced the release of a compact visible fault locator designed for the installation and maintenance of optical networks. It features low voltage warning and automatic power off for saving energy. The fault locator, model 811, is an ideal tool for use with an OTDR as it remedies the limitation of the dead zone of an OTDR. The locator is also suitable for both single mode and multi-mode fibers. This fault locator, also known as a visible red laser source, finds fiber faults in fiber jumpers, patch panels, enclosures, connectors and couplers. It uses visible light to indicate the location of fiber faults accurately from a macro bend point, break, problem coupler or connector or a mechanical splice that is not well aligned. The practical visible fault locator supports FC, ST and SC adaptors as well as CW and 2Hz alternative optical output modes.
