Visions Holiday Group to feature the Greek Island of Ios

Specialist operator Islands of Greece (part of the Visions Holiday Group) is increasing its programme by around 18% next summer with the addition Ios, one of the Cyclades group of islands and situated half way between Naxos and Santorini.

The addition of a new island to the product range is in response to the growing demand for smaller, off the beaten track destinations and record sales to the islands of Alonissis, Paros, Anti Paros and Naxos endorse this trend according to Zoe Cornwall, Product Manager Islands of Greece.

Known as the party island with its lively atmosphere, the island is not widely featured in the UK, but meets the demand from those holidaymakers looking for something new.

The village of Chora, is known to be bustling and vibrant in July and August with lively bars and tavernas. Outside of Chora, the island has many beautiful and peaceful spots and offers around 75 kilometres of fine beaches sand and clear emerald waters, many untouched by tourism and with some only accessible by boat. It also boasts one of the “Top 10 beaches in Europe”.

As well as Chora, Islands of Greece features accommodation in Mylopotas and in Ormos, the arrival point for visitors. Lead-in price for 7 nights in May staying at the Hommers Inn on Ios on a bed and breakfast basis, is priced from £389 pp including flights from Gatwick, all road / boat transfers and taxes.

Also new for 2011, is the five star Adrina Beach hotel in Skopelos, due to open in June and with prices from £899 per person for seven nights B&B, as well as a range of new smaller villas in North Eastern Corfu and new beachfront villas in Skiathos.
