VIZIO Files TV Patent Infringement Lawsuit Against LG Electronics - Seeks Injunction and Monetary Damages

Irvine, CA. -- June 5, 2009 -- VIZIO, America’s #1 HDTV and Consumer Electronics Company, announced today that it has filed an infringement lawsuit in the United States District Court for the District of Maryland against LG Electronics, Inc., a Korean maker and seller of digital televisions, related components and other products, and its wholly-owned subsidiary LG Electronics U.S.A., Inc.

In the suit, VIZIO, a U.S. company based in Irvine, California, alleges that LG infringes numerous VIZIO patents in its manufacturing, importation and distribution of certain products including high definition televisions.
 
VIZIO is seeking an injunction prohibiting LG from importing and selling infringing high definition televisions and is also seeking award of damages for past infringing sales.
