Volusia Manufacturers Association Plant Tour Showcases Daytona Beach’s Newly Renovated Ocean Center

The Volusia Manufacturers Association is sponsoring an exclusive plant tour of Daytona Beach’s Ocean Center for local Volusia and Flagler Manufacturers.

Volusia Manufacturers Association (VMA) is the only manufacturing trade association established by manufacturers uniting Volusia and Flagler County Manufacturers and Associates. The Volusia Manufacturers Association offers information, education, and networking opportunities for members, with over 60 programs annually. Each month, one member hosts a plant tour for all members to attend to see daily operations and to gain understanding into their business operations.

The Volusia Manufacturers Association March 2010 Plant tour will be held at the Daytona Beach Ocean Center on March 17, 2010, from 9:00 – 10:00 a.m. The Ocean Center is located at 101 North Atlantic Avenue in Daytona Beach, Florida, only 400 feet from the ocean, with a contact number of 386-254-4500 or 1-800-858-6444.

The Ocean Center can accommodate a variety of events, from national conventions and their breakout sessions, to concerts, banquets, entertainment shows, gala ballroom events and tradeshows. The Ocean Center boasts over 205,000 square feet of interior meeting space and is a partner in the Ocean Walk Village with resorts, shopping, restaurants and movies all within walking distance of the Ocean Center.

The Ocean Center facility has recently doubled in size after a $76 million expansion. The Ocean Center has 164,000 square feet of exhibit space, with electrical utilities every 30 feet, 22-45 feet high ceilings, and six loading docks containing self-adjusting levelers and large drive-in doors. For large spectator-events, the 42,000 square foot arena has 9600 seats, boasts a 45-foot ceiling, and provides plenty of electrical power with two 400 amp power servers. The arena also has two loading docks, a large drive in door for loading or unloading of equipment, and portable staging, if needed. The Ocean Center has over 32,000 square feet set aside for meeting rooms including 36 breakout rooms, an executive boardroom, a VIP suite, and supplementary sound and light systems. The Ocean Center’s 12,000 square foot banquet hall contains seating for 850 people with parking accommodations for more than 2,500 cars.

The Ocean Center has a full spectrum of professional services to complement its facility. Ovations Food Services, the Ocean Center's preferred in-house caterer, offers everything from fine dining to box lunches. The Ocean Center even has approved contractors for all needs, such as specialty decorations or electrical work; and offers the latest in internet and audio/video technology to support cutting-edge presentations or shows. The VMA March plant tour will focus on the Ocean Walk’s opportunities it offers for local business owners and manufacturers.
