The Wait is over; Indie Fest USA Programming has Released the Screening Schedule for Indie Fest USA 2009 Aug 22 thru Aug 28
With a few hundred submissions of great films, both shorts and features from around the world our Screening Committee had a daunting time this year in bringing in but just 124 films to be screened on the three Screens at the AMC 12 Theaters, Downtown Disney© Anaheim.
(IFUEG) Garden Grove, CA, Thursday, October 23, 2008: After getting a late start in opening submissions for the 2009 festival Season, the films came pouring in. As they were checked in and made their way to our great panel of film professionals (screening panel) we were informed they were going to have an extremely grueling task in front of them.
With each film came more difficult decisions and long motivating discussions. As the deadlines began to draw close the panel was but only a partial way through their laborious task. Like the filmmakers, Indie Fest USA programming staff began chomping at the bit wondering what was in store for us and the public come August 24th, 25th, 26th & 27th. It was because of this Programming was a week late in being able to notify the great filmmakers who’s films were selected.
Programming has decided to do things a little different this year, and therefore all Shorts will play in Theater Nine while the features will play in Theaters 11 & 12. The short blocks range from three (3) films to nine (9) films. These shorts bring everything from great animation to intense drama to clutch the edge of your seat thrillers.
The Thirty Five (35) Features are equally intriguing. We have noticed that our filmmakers this year have gone to great lengths to bring some well known names to their films. This goes to show that although the Studios have had a rough year in getting the Unions to ratify their new contract (ratified but 10 days ago) the Independent Filmmakers are able to get these great artists to work for little to no pay, but for the great scripts that they were given.
The following are the films that you will have the opportunity to see at Indie Fest USA 2009 in Downtown Disney© District, Anaheim.
