Anna Waldman - AMC Offensive POW
COLUMBIA, Mo. – Lyon College transfer Anna Waldman made a big impact on the Scots' soccer team in her first two weeks of the season, recording a hat trick and finishing two games with five goals and 11 points. The American Midwest Conference honored her by naming her the AMC Women's Soccer Offensive Player of the week in matches played between Aug. 25-31.
Waldman, a 5-6 forward who came to Lyon after playing two years at Mendocino Junior College in California, now ranks second nationally in total goals (5), fifth in shots on goal per game (5.00), sixth in shots per game (7.50), sixth in total points (11), sevenths in points per game (5.50) and 10th in total game-winning goals (1).
She recorded a hat trick in her first game as she led the Scots to a come-from-behind 3-2 win over Central Baptist College in Conway, Ark. Waldman scored all three goals in the contest, with two coming in the second half.
She then posted a pair of goals and an assist to lead the Scots to a 4-0 blanking of University of the Ozar2ks on Friday in Lyon's home opener.
Lyon will be back at home on Saturday when the Scots open AMC play against conference newcomer Lindenwood University at Bellville in a 1 p.m. start. Lyon will battle William Woods University at home on Sept. 13 at 1 p.m.
