Mosinee, WI - 02/19/2009Digital Check, a provider of desktop check scanners and remote deposit capture technology to the financial industry, announced that WAUSAU Financial Systems (WFS), a provider of payment and receivables processing solutions, certified Digital Check’s CheXpress CX30 check scanner. WAUSAU Financial Systems now offers the hardware to its banking clients for their remote deposit capture needs.

Digital Check’s CheXpress CX30 integrates with WAUSAU Financial Systems’ remote deposit and payment capture solution in order to more efficiently and accurately process check deposits.

“There is a substantial opportunity to increase the utilization of RDC in the small business market,” said Steve Buchberger, senior vice president of payment solutions for WAUSAU Financial Systems. “Having an affordable and easy-to-deploy software and scanner solution is critical to achieving maximum market potential.”

“The certification of CheXpress by WAUSAU Financial Systems provides financial institutions and small business customers with a reliable, low cost scanner that helps them accelerate the adoption of remote deposit with their customers” said John Gainer, executive vice president for Digital Check. “As small businesses look for ways to improve their effectiveness and costs, WFS and Digital Check provide them a powerful and affordable solution.”

The CheXpress CX30 provides a number of new features including two patent-pending technologies for adaptive Magnetic Ink Character Recognition (MICR) and scan and return mode of operation. The CheXpress CX30 represents the first small scanner with the ability to read the varying qualities of magnetic inks produced by desktop check printing applications, including support across printed checks with MICR intensity ranging from 40 to 200 percent. The CheXpress CX30 also supports 300 and 240 dpi scanning in black and white, grayscale and color.

The new scanning device incorporates capabilities designed specifically for the needs of the small and medium business customer. The energy efficient check scanner requires less energy by incorporating lower power consuming components and provides automatic shutdown capabilities. It also operates more quietly than typical check scanners.
