Wawasan Open University (WOU) offers industry relevant programmes for working professionals and school leavers.

Azliyana, a Business Development Executive in Highway Concessionaire Company, enrolled with Wawasan Open University (WOU) to pursue her Bachelor of Technology (Hons) in Construction Management (BTCM), a field related to her profession.
“BTCM is a platform for me to improve my professional skills. It is a ticket for my career enhancement. Working in the area of Business Development, definitely I need more knowledge in the right field to boost my skills and experience,” she said.
Azliyana holds a Diploma in Computer Science and she believes that the WOU degree is an added value to enhance her job competency for her personal enrichment and professional advancement.

“The study method and time that I need to spend for attending classes or tutorials did not distract my working time. Moreover, the Regional Centre is nearby to my house,” said Azliyana who enrolled through Kuala Lumpur Regional Centre.
“ODL taught me a lot about time management. Career and study works well concurrently,” she continued.
Exclusively dedicated to working professionals, WOU offers more than ten Bachelor’s degree programmes under the School of Science and Technology. The areas of specialisation include multimedia design, computing and intelligent system, software engineering, computer systems and networks, information systems, information and communication technology, and construction management.
WOU is extending higher learning opportunities to school leavers and diploma holders with the offering of On Campus Learning (OCL) full-time studies. The University under the School of Business and Administration offers Bachelor of Business (Hons) in Accounting and Bachelor of Business (Hons) in Management.
Gobeeshankar Krishnan, 22, introduced by his best friend to take-up Accounting at WOU. “I chose WOU mainly because of the course fees, environment and facilities, and the University’s good reputation,” he said.
“Ever since primary school, I’ve loved mathematics, especially calculus! I definitely prefer numbers more than words. My ambition is to become a successful accountant in the corporate sector. Study at WOU gives me a comfortable feeling, like being at home. The people here are friendly,” he added.
Enrolment for the next February 2014 OCL intake is now open. Enrol today for the business degree programmes and check out the WOU Study Grant of up to RM600 to offset the first semester tuition fees.
To apply for the full-time degree programmes, candidates must possess a minimum of two Principals in STPM/A-Levels or at least five grades B in UEC Senior Middle II or Diploma/Foundation/Matriculation or equivalent qualifications.
Meanwhile the enrolment for January 2014 ODL intake is now ongoing. Register today through Regular Entry or via WOU’s unique Open Entry Admission System that takes the individual's work experience into consideration. They need to be at least 21 years old with a minimum PMR/SPM/MCE/UEC/Diploma or equivalent qualifications.
