The "Transport Security" international conference will take place in London, United Kingdom on 13 Feb 2012.


February 8, 2012 - (PressReleasePoint) - Focus on transport security is as heightened as it has ever been and vigilance remains critical. This is particularly the case when securing major events. 2012 sees the hosting of two major international sporting events; the London 2012 Olympics, UEFA Euro 2012 in Poland & Ukraine. This is followed by FIFA World Cup 2014 in Brazil and the 2016 Rio de Janeiro Olympics. These events face unique challenges in securing the transport network. This conference will use case study analysis to analyse the measures undertaken and lessons to be learned from their experiences. 
 
With these issues in mind, SMi is proud to present inaugural Transport Security event. Building on the success of the SMi security portfolio, this launch event will take a global perspective on all key issues surrounding transport security from security and protection of people and cargo at airports to maintaining security over the entire transport network for major international events.
