As it is well-known, Google is the dominant search engine on the globe. Its total market share reaches 91% due to the one billion of its users worldwide. It is followed by Bing, Yahoo, Ask and AOL conformably.
In many countries Google is even more widely used than its local competitors.
Still, in some areas Google is the runner-up to the local search engines. For example, in the Russian internet search market, Google goes second, yielding to Yandex. The Russian segment of the internet is not the only one, where Google is pulled ahead by the local search rivals. Baidu, the China’s local search engine, is the absolute leader among its rivals due to the country’s censorship regime.
