Science education programs have a new chance to join the STEMworks database of successful STEM programs. Applications for both in-school and out-of-school programs are being accepted starting Tuesday, January 28. Interested parties can register now and have access to an informational webinar on January 28.
STEMworks brings together funders, program developers, STEM advocates, and others to help advance STEM education. Funders can find programs in the STEMworks database that maximize the return on their investment. Those who develop STEM learning programs can benchmark their work against successful exemplars. And, advocates can point to excellent programs as they make the case for quality.
WestEd serves as the independent evaluator of STEMworks applicants.
STEMworks is a program of Change the Equation (CTEq), a nonpartisan, nonprofit initiative of CEOs that helps the business community support improved STEM education. CTEq created a set of rigorous design principles for effective STEM learning programs. WestEd served as an independent reviewer of the design principles, and uses the principles to evaluate applicants to the STEMworks program.
