Building on the incredible success of its first cohort, the UK Green Building Council is launching a second cycle of Future Leaders.

In January 2015, 24 young professionals from across the built environment sector will embark on an exciting journey of innovation and leadership, as the nine-month programme kicks off for the second time.

The Future Leaders Programme equips young professionals with the skills needed to manage risks and exploit business opportunities arising from future sustainability challenges in the built environment.

Delegates will be nominated by senior business executives from across the industry to ensure the best talent is nurtured. They will collaborate over the course of the programme, to propose innovations which will challenge the sector's accepted business models.

The first intake of the programme will soon draw to a close through a presentation to UK-GBC's Leaders' Network (comprising over 100 board level executives from across the sector), and an industry-wide celebration of innovation and leadership at BAFTA on Tuesday 21 October.

Watch two of the participants reflect on their journey so far in the videos below.

In a rapidly changing and unpredictable operating environment, we need to help equip future leaders with the skills and insights needed to tackle the challenges that lay ahead

Paul King, Chief Executive at UK-GBC
