The Latin America Trade Award (LATA) will be presented on Thursday, 15 December 2011 to a Dutch company that is operating in a distinctive manner in Latin America. The LATA is an initiative of the Netherlands-Latin American Business Council. This sixth edition of the event is being organised in association with Rabobank.

A professional jury comprised of a range of representatives from the business community and government ministries will assess the nominated companies based on a number of themes including sustainability, economic and social engagement, growth and presence in Latin America, promotion of the Netherlands and creativity. The company’s vision on Latin America as a trading partner will also be a determining factor for the LATA.

This year a people’s choice award will be presented alongside the jury award. The principle is straightforward: the nominee with the most votes from the business community wins the award. This makes this LATA an award for entrepreneurs, by entrepreneurs. For more information about the awards, the nominees and the event on 15 December 2011, please go to the the LATA website site.
