William Woods and Park Take Home Player of the Week Honors

ST. LOUIS, Mo. – Zach Rutland of Park (Mo.) and Hannah Bland of William Woods (Mo.) have been named AMC Basketball Players of the Week, the office announce Monday. Rutland and Bland were honored based on their performance Dec. 25-31.

AMC Men's Basketball Player of the Week
Zach Rutland, Park (Mo.)
5-7, Jr., G, Indianapolis, Ind.

  • Totaled 40 points in the Pirates 2-0 week.
  • Scored a game-high 29 points in the Pirates upset win over (RV) Benedictine (Kan.).
  • Led the Pirates to back-to-back wins for the first time this season.
  • Scored 12 of his game-high 15 points in the first half against St. Louis Pharmacy (Mo.).
  • Shot 55.6-percent (15-of-27) from the field, 44.4-percent (4-of-9) from the 3-point line and 85.7-percent (6-of-7) from the free throw line.
  • Added six rebounds, two steals and 10 assists on the week.
  • This is his first career AMC Men's Basketball Player of the Week award.

AMC Women's Basketball Player of the Week
Hannah Bland, William Woods (Mo.)
5-11, Sr., F, Waynesville, Mo.

  • Tallied a double-double in the Owls 67-56 win over Harris-Stowe (Mo.).
  • Had 25 points, on 9-of-13 shooting (69-2-percent).
  • Added 12 rebounds, four assists, one block and one steal.
  • Went 7-of-10 (70.0-percent) from the foul line.
  • Now has two double-doubles on the season.
  • This is her first career AMC Women's Basketball Player of the Week award.

    • Darrien Dickey, William Woods (Mo.) – Scored 18 points and had seven rebounds against Harris-Stowe (Mo.).
    • Anthony Vallejo, St. Louis Pharmacy (Mo.) – Recorded two double-doubles.
    • Eric Moses, Lyon (Ark.) – Averaged 18.5 points and seven rebounds per game for the Scots.
    • Andy Etienne, Central Baptist (Ark.) – Scored 15 points and seven rebounds in the Mustangs win over Freed-Hardeman (Tenn.).
    • Fitzgerald Hopkins, Missouri Baptist – Scored 32 points against Lindenwood-Belleville (Ill.).
    • Nathan Biggs, Columbia (Mo.) – Tallied 19 points, 6.5 rebounds and 2.5 assists per game in the 2-0 week for the Cougars.
  • Women:
    • Allison Dewald, St. Louis Pharmacy (Mo.) – Averaged 15 points and 5.5 rebounds in two games.
    • Krystal Forrester, Park (Mo.) – Averaged 10.5 points and 7.5 rebounds in the Pirates 2-0 week.
    • Jamie Crum, Freed-Hardeman (Tenn.) – Scored 18 points in the Lady Lions over Lyon and 26 points in the win over Central Baptist (Ark.).
    • Ali Tucker, Lyon (Ark.) – Averaged 16.5 points per game in the Scots 1-1 week.
    • Briya Wilborn, Missouri Baptist – Scored 21 points in the Spartans win over Stephens (Mo.).
    • Morgan Brandt, Columbia (Mo.) – Averaged 14.0 points and 6.5 rebounds per game in the Cougars 2-0 week, including a 15 point, 11 rebound game against Harris-Stowe (Mo.).
