There is more women bodybuilding than ever before, but no one really views this as a sport that is typically for women. It may surprise you that women don’t do this for competition or to succeed, but they do it because it makes them feel empowered.

Looking at a bodybuilder, the words big, intimidating, powerful, etc might come to mind. The same feelings are associated with bodybuilders themselves. The main reason they do it is the feeling of empowerment.

Since there is more women bodybuilding, the sport is starting to take off. There are products designed specifically for the female anatomy and competitions that are for the female competitors. The sport is growing in vast numbers due to the overwhelming amount of women that are getting involved.

Even though there is still a lot of taboo thoughts associated with women and bodybuilding, more women are starting to get involved. It appears that the feeling of empowerment is very addictive to most women and can help push them into this sport.
