Words Can Never Be Enough - A Story of Life beyond Sunshine Empire
Youth Shares His Experiences as a naïve former follower in Singapore’s Largest MLM Ponzi Scheme and Urges Young Singaporeans to “Live life forward no matter what failures one might have gone through”.
Singapore, 26th January 2012 (PressReleasePoint) - In an autobiographical account of his short stint with a bunch of unscrupulous businessmen, Malcolm Chew candidly confesses to some serious mistakes and lessons learnt. ‘Words Can Never Be Enough’ is a deeply cathartic compendium of incidents in the life of a naïve 20-something that examines the changing values of a society increasingly driven by ‘success’ at any cost. Malcolm exposes contradictions of a quick-fix, get-rich lifestyle vis-a-vis a predominantly conservative Asian upbringing based on morality in bold and persuasive strokes. In the end, he leaves us with poignant and thought-provoking questions about human life and all its vagaries seen from the perspective of a generation that is standing at the crossroads of two distinctly different eras.
Set against a backdrop of a career with Sunshine Empire and as a big brother with a heart of enduring love for his God sister, Malcolm dives deep into his soul-searching and shares truths discovered therein. If one were to highlight a unique quality of this deeply moving story, it would be Malcolm’s sincerity. As an impressionable, unsuspecting young Singaporean, he was deeply influenced by the dodgy and ruthless top management of Sunshine Empire pretending to be saviours. To his dismay, this fascination and association proved to be quite costly, leading him into huge personal debts, broken relationships and almost his university education. Unlike many other youths involved with this Ponzi scheme who could have lost all hope and plunged into grave despair, Malcolm uses it as an opportunity to indulge in earnest introspection and come up with heart-felt truths that will guide and prevent many a passionate youth from choosing the wrong company and taking shortcuts to success in life.
Malcolm talks about passion, love, dreams, goals, time, relationships and even sex. He recounts anecdotes about how he got sucked into a pursuit of a false, unsustainable dream and his remarkable turnabout. He is a straight shooter yet an individual who is not afraid of his emotions. He prescribes a simple formula, especially pertinent for the green-behind-the-ears and shows how one has a choice to choose the correct heroes and surround oneself with people who value honesty and integrity.
Whether the reader is a youngster starting out in life, a teacher, youth leader or parent of a young adult, Malcolm’s story indeed has something in store.
‘Words Can Never Be Enough’ will be available for sale at all major bookstores from December 2011. Marketed as a self-help book for youths, it will retail for S$18.00. The book launch will be held at the end of December 2011, together with Global Wealth’s office opening in Central Soho, Clarke Quay.

A Short Abstract From “Words Can Never Be Enough”
“With this book, I yearn to share the very insights of life I have attained through my walk in life, business and the aftermath of the scam called Sunshine Empire that I naively believed in. At the same time, I hope this book would also be an encouragement to youths, whose lives have been less than ideal. Your past does not define who you will be, rather every single day, every action you take, decides your future. A single mistake does not mark the end of your life, but may well be the spark that lights a new path”

About Malcolm Chew
Malcolm Chew was just like every other teenager at the age of 20, leaving the army and bracing himself for his tertiary education at the Nanyang Business School in Singapore.
He engaged in direct selling – commonly called multi-level marketing – when he was involved in a company called Sunshine Empire. It eventually collapsed when its directors were found guilty of fraud and criminal breach of trust in running a ponzi scheme. This left the author with huge debts and broken relationships with the people he treasured. It was from that catastrophic event in life that he came to know a benefactor whom he now regards and calls his godmother. He then picked himself up to start afresh in life and business. At the age of 24, Malcolm graduated from university in 2010 and is currently the Managerial Director of Global Wealth Private Limited. He is now based in Hong Kong and China.
