Workshare Provides Unique Email Attachment Synchronization in Upgrades to Metadata Cleaning Server Solution

San Francisco, CA, May 18, 2011 -Workshare, a leading provider of document collaboration software, today announces the version 2.1 upgrade of Workshare Protect Server, a server-based metadata cleaning solution that secures proprietary information in Office documents. The new version of this server-based solution is the first solution that allows for attachment and sent item email synchronization to allow organizations to maintain one single instance of emails and attachments.

Workshare Protect Server stops metadata leaks and protects not only an organization's information, but also their reputation. The new version of Workshare Protect Server includes an Exchange Server Plug-in that provides the ability to configure synchronization of outbound emails processed by Workshare Protect Server with the versions received by internal recipients. This ensures that all internal and external recipients receive the same version of attachments for all emails sent from within the organization.

With the new version, users now have the option of synchronizing the version in the original sender's "Sent Items" folder. This will update the original copy of the email found in the sender's 'Sent Items' folder with the processed attachments.

Organizations which have implemented Workshare Protect Server have found the solution provides advanced security for mobile and webmail users sharing documents. The solution provides metadata cleaning to protect confidential information as it is transmitted via an iPhone, Blackberry or other mobile device, preventing exposure of proprietary or regulated data.
