Popular Craft Beer Tavern Joins Craft Brewing Company to Award Trip to Oregon Brewers Festival
TAMPA, FLA. – Craft beer lovers, prepare for takeoff. World of Beer (WOB),a rapidly expanding network of beer-centric taverns known for over 500 craft brews from around the world, craft spirits and Tavern Fare, is giving customers the opportunity to win the ultimate beer lover’s getaway. World of Beer is partnering with Craft Brew Alliance (CBA) for a new program through which loyalty members enter for the chance to win a trip to the Oregon Brewers Festival. The program will run March 24 – April 20, 2014. Winners will be announced on April 29, 2014.
“We are excited to be partnering with Craft Brew Alliance, who represents three of the pioneering craft beer brands,” said WOB Director of Brewer & Distributor Relations Marc Sawyer. “Portland is arguably the craft beer capital of the United States, so attending the Oregon Brewers Festival and brewing at Widmer Brewing is going to be a once in a lifetime opportunity. We can’t wait to reward one of our loyal customers with such an incredible experience.”
To take part in this free contest, customers must first be a WOB Loyalty Club member. After signing up to receive a Craft Brew Alliance game piece, customers are invited to try eight different beers, each of which will earn them a stamp on their game piece. Upon completion of these eight beers, the customer can turn in their stamped game piece to enter the drawing for a chance to win a trip to the 27th Annual Oregon Brewers Festival July 23 – 27, 2014 in Portland, Oregon.
“Creating a unique opportunity for consumers to experience new beers and new beer styles from a variety of breweries is what led Kurt and me to help co-found the Oregon Brewer’s Festival nearly three decades ago,” said Rob Widmer of Widmer Brothers Brewing Co., which celebrates its 30th anniversary this year. “This festival is the quintessential celebration of craft beer and has grown to become the largest craft beer festival in Oregon. We can think of no better reward for a craft beer lover than to come and join us for the festival in July and enjoy some of the best craft beers the world has to offer.”
The Craft Brew Alliance line-up of craft beers includes several draft and bottle options. On draft will be Kona Longboard Lager and Widmer Brothers Upheaval IPA. Available in bottle will be Kona Big Wave Golden Ale, Redhook Long Hammer IPA, Redhook Audible Ale, Widmer Brothers Hefeweizen, Widmer Brothers Alchemy and Omission Pale Ale.
“World of Beer is thrilled to be partnering with Craft Brew Alliance for this event,” said Paul Avery, CEO of World of Beer Franchising, Inc. “We are excited to connect our customers with new experiences as they enjoy being a part of the WOB community and culture.”

About Craft Brew Alliance
CBA is an independent, publicly traded craft brewing company that was formed through the merger of leading Pacific Northwest craft brewers – Widmer Brothers Brewing and Redhook Ale Brewery – in 2008. With an eye toward preserving and growing one-of-a-kind craft beers and brands, CBA welcomed Kona Brewing Company in 2010, and then launched Omission beer in 2012 and Square Mile Cider Company in 2013.
When Kurt & Rob Widmer founded Widmer Brothers Brewing in 1984, they didn’t confine their brewing exploration to strict style guidelines. To this day, Widmer Brothers continues to create craft beers with a unique and unconventional twist on traditional styles that are award winning and please a wide range of craft beer lovers. Redhook began in a Seattle transmission shop in 1981 and those colorful roots are reflected in the brand’s personality to this day. The eminently drinkable beers consistently win awards and please crowds across the United States. Kona Brewing was founded in 1994 by the father and son team of Cameron Healy and Spoon Khalsa, who dreamed of crafting fresh, local-island brews with spirit, passion and quality. As the largest craft brewery in Hawaii, Kona personifies the laid-back, passionate lifestyle and environmental respect of the Hawaiian people and culture. Omission beer is the first craft beer brand in the United States focused exclusively on brewing great tasting craft beers with traditional beer ingredients, including malted barley, that are specially crafted to remove gluten. Square Mile Cider was inspired by the fortitude and perseverance of the original pioneers and reinvigorates this enduringly classic American beverage.
