World Class Solutions helps client win 2.5 Million Euro Contract

World Class Solutions (WCS) has helped one of their key clients win a contract worth over 2.5 million Euro. They developed the presentation that clinched the deal.

One SME is not worried about the recession this year. They've just won a contract worth over 2.5 million Euro. However, it wasn't plain sailing. They weren't the favourites and for a while it looked certain that the business would go to another company. The stakes couldn't have been higher because if they'd lost the contract there would have been a significant number of lay-offs and a section of the business would have closed down.

The contract hinged on a single presentation. There were 3 competitors in the running and each was asked to present their case at a meeting at the customer's headquarters. The SME had been a client of WCS for several months and asked them to develop the presentation.

CEO Pat Hough described what happened next. “We were under severe time pressure. Normally it takes about 4 weeks to produce a quality presentation but we had less than a week. The first day was spent collecting information, the second was spend number-crunching but we worked overnight and were able to show our client an outline of the presentation on the third day. Luckily they was happy with the outline and we worked flat out to develop the presentation itself and the supporting documentation.”

There were several challenges along the way. Pat Hough explains: “Our client had been asked to produce a PowerPoint presentation. We normally use Adobe Flash as our delivery platform because it give greater flexibility and produces more impressive results. However, the client was adamant so we used PowerPoint as the platform without using any of its features. We developed the presentation in several graphics packages and then imported the media files into PowerPoint. It wasn't ideal – and it did slow us down – but it worked.”

The presentation was ready on time and was a success. The contract was formally signed last week and work will start before the end of the month. The client believes that the quality of the presentation was a key factor in obtaining the contract.
