With the advent of the festive season, shopping for friends and loved ones and presenting them attractively wrapped gifts is high on every one’s agenda.

Dubai, Dubai, Country., July 23, 2014 - (PressReleasePoint) -

With the advent of the festive season, shopping for friends and loved ones and presenting them attractively wrapped gifts is high on every one’s agenda. Gift-wrapping counters at department stores and shopping centres are besieged with a rush of last-minute requests, as shoppers queue up to get their purchases dressed up with imaginative designs.

Gift wrapping is an art form that can transform an ordinary item into a highly attractive gift for the receiver. As such, talented gift wrappers are in great demand at all festive occasions the world over.

The Wrap Star gift wrapping competition being held on the sidelines of Paperworld Middle East 2014, will highlight and reward skilled gift wrapping practitioners from around the region, when it is held at the Dubai International Convention and Exhibition Centre in March next year.

“The gift wrapping competition is designed to highlight the special skills and creativity involved in the process of dressing up attractive-looking presents. The competition also serves as an attractive show window for leading manufacturers of wrapping materials and products,” said Ahmed Pauwels, CEO of organiser Epoc Messe Frankfurt.

After a successful debut at last year’s Paperworld Middle East, Epoc Messe Frankfurt is looking forward to hosting even more entries at the upcoming edition in March. The competition is open to boutique shops and major retail outlets such as department stores, malls and luxury boutiques which have an interest in or already provide gift wrapping as a service within their establishments.

The contest will also be useful for stores who use the art of gift wrapping as a way of creating appealing window displays in their shops as well as those involved in the creative industry who are looking to source materials for their work or as resources for educational facilities.

Competitors will be provided with wrapping material from a range of supporting exhibitors participating at Paperworld Middle East including: Francesco Brizzolari, Bolis, Toscana Carte Pregiate, Beaumont Group, Kiky and Chee Wah.

Paperworld Middle East brings the unmatched expertise, scope and reach of the Frankfurt-based parent show to key decision makers, buyers and customers in the region. Paperworld is a global brand for the paper, stationery and office supplies sector with successful platforms in promising markets: Germany, China, Hong Kong, UAE and Russia.

The Paperworld brand has been exported from Frankfurt to regions of importance to the sector around the world. The result is a global network of regional events that brings together demand and supply to the benefit of both exhibitors and visitors.
