Wyndano's Cloak Author Featured in Monterey Herald
A. R. Silverberry, author of the award-winning novel, Wyndano's Cloak, was featured in the Monterey County Herald.
A. R. Silverberry, author of the award-winning novel, Wyndano's Cloak, had a feature interview in the Monterey County Herald. The headline read, "Fantasy novel mirrors life." Silverberry, the pseudonym of Peter Allan Adler, discussed the origins of the story from his unconscious, and also from experience as a psychologist helping young people grapple with our complex, bewildering, and sometimes frightening world. After the book was completed, he realized it was a tale about finding empowerment through trusting one's inner magic, a metaphor for inner gifts or talents. The article ran on the front page of the Leisure section of the December 5 Sunday edition. The entire interview, which was featured beside Dave Barry's Holiday Gift Guide, may read at http://tinyurl.com/2b539ev.
Wyndano's Cloak delivers an inspiring message for young people to believe in themselves and to trust the treasures they carry inside, making it a wonderful gift for the holidays. In the novel, the kingdom of Aerdem is threatened. Fourteen-year-old Jen has one chance to save it—with a magical cloak too dangerous to use. What unfolds is a fantasy adventure that will appeal to children ages nine and up, and adults who cherish fairy tales. Jen's quest for empowerment in the face of dire adversity has universal appeal. The result is a gripping tale of loyalty and betrayal, love and hate, and the yearning of the spirit.
Wyndano's Cloak has captured seven book awards (including Gold Medal Winner in the 2010 Readers Favorite Awards), and rave reviews. Readers Favorite proclaimed, "A. R. Silverberry is a master at characterization. Few are his equal." Allbooks Reviews called the novel, ". . . a tale of intense imagination and wonder . . . An adventure we may only find in the deepest corners of our imagination." Feathered Quill Review declared, ". . . Constant suspense . . . impossible to put down. You're going to be very tired in the morning!" Children's Bookwatch said the book would, ". . . attract a following to clamor for sequels to this exciting tome." And Readers Choice Reviews called it, ". . . A grand adventure . . . a coming-of-age soon to be classic that is certain to keep kids entertained and away from the TV and video game system for long stretches . . . Silverberry’s creativity and imagination are second to none."
