Mariposa, CA, February 04, 2010 (PressReleasePoint) -- Destination Yosemite comes to Los Angeles with rock climbing, skiing, rafting, campfires and other exciting outdoor activities for families to enjoy. This unique opportunity to participate in some of the year-round activities in and around Yosemite National Park will take place at the Yosemite Experience, an experiential and informational pavilion within the Los Angeles Times Travel & Adventure Show, February 13-14, 2010 at the Los Angeles Convention Center.
Designed with the look and feel of California’s premier National Park, the inaugural Yosemite Experience will feature an open walk-thru area for consumers to meet with exhibitors from the Mariposa County area and learn about the destination, including hotels, attractions and travel products. Special activities for families to experience hands on will include the Tenaya Lodge/Yosemite Rock Climbing Wall, Kids Steer Roping exhibition, Badger Pass Ski exhibit and Zephyr Whitewater rafting display.
The Yosemite Experience marks the first time multiple Yosemite destination partners have combined to showcase the scores of amenities the area has to offer. Participating tourism and gateway partners include: Yosemite/Mariposa Tourism Bureau, Delaware North Companies Parks & Resorts at Yosemite, Inc., Tenaya Lodge, Yosemite Resorts, Yosemite Sierra Visitors Bureau, Tuolumne Visitors Bureau, Mono County Tourism, Yosemite Pack Station, The Sugar Pine Railroad, Groveland Chamber Commerce, Merced Welcome Center/YARTS and Zephyr Rafting Company.
“This groundbreaking effort is another example of multiple Yosemite area tourism partners coming together as one destination and creating a must see/must visit exhibit that will be the primary attraction at this ultra-competitive consumer show,” said Jeffrey Hentz, executive director of the Yosemite/Mariposa Tourism Bureau. “We are very proud and excited to bring this one-of-a-kind event to Southern California. It’s never been done before.”
Consumers attending the show will also have the opportunity to sign up and win exciting Travel Packages to Destination Yosemite including an ultimate giveaway for a family travel package that includes an 8-10 day visit to the area.
