Los Angeles – With kids across the U.S. clamoring to speak out against companies that abuse animals—especially SeaWorld, which has been under fire since the hit film Blackfish revealed how severely orcas suffer in the theme park’s tiny tanks—peta2, PETA’s youth division, has launched its first-ever iPhone and iPad app, now available to download for free from the App Store.

Features in the new app include the ability to sign up for and participate in peta2′s Street Team, the group’s army of more than 100,000 student activists across North America. Street Teamers can earn points for signing petitions and completing actions—such as organizing or attending a SeaWorld protest—and use those points to shop for free animal rights T-shirts, books, posters, and more right from the app.

“peta2′s supporters are always on the go and always eager to speak out against abusive businesses like SeaWorld, so an official peta2 app makes perfect sense,” says peta2 Director Marta Holmberg. “With peta2′s iPhone app, kids can help animals wherever they are—whether they’re sitting in class, in line at the grocery store, or even waiting for their favorite band to take the stage.”

The new app includes more than a dozen SeaWorld and orca-specific missions, such as calling on Groupon to nix its SeaWorld promotions. Other Street Team missions include campaigning for vegan choices in their cafeterias, sharing video exposés of factory farms and circuses that abuse animals on social media, and more.
