YouTube Bans Popular Videos, Cancels Channel, Russ Curran Fights Back

Russ Curran, a popular health and wellness author and blogger, says YouTube shut down his popular YouTube videos and channel without warning.

Scottsdale, AZ, February 28, 2013 (PressReleasePoint) -- YouTube shut down the 70 videos in health and wellness author Russ Curran's YouTube video channel, with no advance warning and no specific explanation.

Curran had a large following, with over 2 million views of the popular health and wellness videos. The channel was deleted by YouTube and this statement appears in its place: "This account has been terminated due to repeated or severe violations of our Community Guidelines and/or claims of copyright infringement."

Curran's YouTube channel was functioning for over two years, and in that time he created 70 different video presentations covering many health and wellness topics, including how to fight cancer. Curran does not know why the channel was banned without notice.

"YouTube has not specifically stated which of the videos violated their policy, nor have they stated what it is they did not like. They did not send a warning asking for me to remove anything. They simply shut it all down without warning," explained Curran.

He has created an appeal for help through his blog at www.epigeneticsandnutrition.com/youtube-2/youtube/ asking his followers to contact YouTube on his behalf. Many have replied on the blog with words of support and a request that YouTube restore the video channel. YouTube has not responded.

"I understand the challenge that YouTube has with millions of videos that they have to police every day. There must be others like me who innocently violate some rule unintentionally, and all it would take is a request from YouTube to fix the problem. There is no need to ban the channel and then ignore requests for an explanation. Tell me what is wrong and I will gladly fix it," said Curran.

YouTube continues to remain silent. Curran says he has no way to contact the many followers of his YouTube channel because those records were lost to him when YouTube shut down the channel. He is hopeful those followers will help him by contacting YouTube and asking that the Russ Curran channel be restored.
