Medicare/Medicaid provider doubles the number of lives managed on the Jiva™ population health management platform

FRISCO, Texas – March  26, 2014ZeOmega Inc., the premier provider of software solutions for population healthcare management, today announced that AmeriHealth Caritas Family of Companies has expanded the number of lives it manages with  ZeOmega’s JivaTM platform to deliver care management services for Medicaid and Medicare members in multiple states. AmeriHealth Caritas is now managing approximately 1.3 million lives on Jiva, up from approximately 750,000 in 2012.

Recognized as a leader in providing healthcare solutions for those most in need, AmeriHealth Caritas has leveraged Jiva’s scalability and flexibility to accommodate significant expansion in the past 12 months. The company has added hundreds of thousands of members in new lines of business and now reaches individuals and families in 16 states and the District of Columbia.

“Jiva’s flexibility has helped us meet unique needs across various lines of business,” says Karen Michael, vice president, corporate medical management for AmeriHealth Caritas. “It enables us to not only define new roles, but also set up unique workflows, rules, assessments and other requirements specific to each line of business. As a result, we can leverage our existing infrastructure to roll out new lines of businesses in short timeframes. Our doubling of membership on the Jiva platform in less than 12 months is testament to this. The configurability of the system also allows us to address the unique needs of our customers who include, among others, state Medicaid agencies.”

“We are deeply committed to helping people get well and stay healthy—especially those who are underserved by our current healthcare system,” said Andrea Gelzer, M.D., senior vice president and corporate chief medical officer for AmeriHealth Caritas. “Jiva helps us implement population health management programs that focus on outcomes-driven care and enhancing quality of life.”

Gelzer adds that ZeOmega is a valuable partner in AmeriHealth Caritas’ growth story. “Jiva has enabled us to scale across multiple lines of businesses across multiple time zones quickly, seamlessly and cost-effectively.”

“Healthcare leaders like AmeriHealth Caritas respond quickly to the needs of the market and of their customers,” says Nandini Rangaswamy, executive vice president for ZeOmega. “Because of Jiva’s scalable and flexible architecture, our clients don’t have to undertake a new implementation every time they add a new line of business. This reduces costs and allows them to be more responsive to changing market needs. We are very pleased that we could be such a valuable partner for AmeriHealth Caritas and to be part of their growth and mission.”
