Chicago, IL (September 27, 2016) – The Eighteenth Annual Noche de Gala, will take place at 6:30 p.m., on Friday, September 30, at Drury Lane Theater and Conference Center, 100 Drury Lane in Oakbrook Terrace. Very Rev. Ronald A. Hicks, Vicar General of the Archdiocese of Chicago, will attend this annual recognition dinner and award ceremony that honors Catholics who serve and work in Hispanic Ministry in Cook and Lake Counties. Almost 150 parishes offering Hispanic Ministry as well as various Archdiocesan Agencies will be represented by the evening’s attendees.

The theme, “Celebrating the Extraordinary Jubilee of Mercy,”  was chosen to represent Hispanic Ministry’s embrace of the goals and mission during this Year of Mercy. In a letter to parishioners in November 2015, at the beginning of the Year of Mercy, Archbishop Blase J. Cupich wrote, “The Jubilee of Mercy is a graced opportunity for all of us to appreciate more deeply how the mercy of God has taken hold of our lives and, at the same time, how we can bring that mercy into the world though our own actions and the way we live our lives.

The evening’s Master of Ceremonies will be Enrique Rodriguez, news reporter and anchor for WGBO 66 / Univision Chicago.  Entertainment and dancing follow the awards ceremony.

The following individuals will receive awards in recognition of work and dedication to Hispanic Ministry in the Archdiocese of Chicago:
