North Mankato, MN (July 9 ,2019)—The Aussie Peppers of Minnesota snapped the Chicago Bandits 14-game winning streak with a 5-1 win over the Bandits Tuesday night.
The Peppers took game two of the series behind a dominant pitching performance from Kaia Parnaby.
Parnaby allowed no earned runs, and struck out nine in a complete game win.
The Peppers trailed 1-0 in the bottom of the third before Carmie Sorensen singled to right field driving in Chelsea Forkin. Leah Parry also came around to score on the hit after an error while Sorensen advanced to third.
Maddie Cameron hit a sacrifice fly to centerfield as another unearned run scored.
In the bottom of the sixth inning, Jade Wall smacked an RBI single to center and Michelle Cox added an RBI as the Peppers went on to win 5-1.
The Peppers and Bandits will have a doubleheader on Wednesday with game one beginning at 6:00 PM ET/5:00 CT.
