Aussie Under 16's Bookend Big Day Four At Vissla ISA World Junior Surfing Championship


Huntington Beach, California, USA, October 30th (31st AUS TIME), 2019: With four of six Under 16 division surfers left in the main draw, and two more still alive in the Repechage rounds, the Woolworths Australian Junior Surfing Team remains in a strong position heading into day five of the 2019 Vissla ISA World Junior Surfing Championship.

Huntington Beach, California, USA, October 30th (31st AUS TIME), 2019: With four of six Under 16 division surfers left in the main draw, and two more still alive in the Repechage rounds, the Woolworths Australian Junior Surfing Team remains in a strong position heading into day five of the 2019 Vissla ISA World Junior Surfing Championship.

Zeb Stokes and Mike Clayton-Brown are through to round three of the main draw whilst Under 16’s teammate Joel Vaughan showed why he was one of the pre-event favourites in the division, racking up a huge 16.87 point heat total in Repechage two to easily win his heat and cement himself as a title threat despite being relegated.

Sage Goldsbury and Ellia Smith are yet to surf their round three heats in the Under 16 Girl’s whilst relegated teammate Cedar Leigh-Jones is through to Repechage two and still well and truly in with a chance.

Nyxie Ryan and Holly Williams both won their round three heats with 11.5 and 9.83 point heat totals while Tru Starling meets Carolina Santos in Repechage four.

All three Under 18 Boys’ team members will have to make the final the hard way, relegated to Repechage three.

Athletes were selected from their strong results in the 2018 Surf Dive N’ Ski Australian Junior Surfing Titles. The ISA Vissla World Junior Surfing Championships will be held at Huntington Beach California and begin on 27th October 2019.
