Downers Grove, Ill. – CompTIA, the world’s leading technology association, has been named one of the Best Places to Work in Illinois for the eighth straight year.

The recognition comes from The Daily Herald Business Ledger in partnership with the Human Resources Management Association of Chicago, the Illinois Chamber of Commerce, MRA-The Management Association, the Small Business Advocacy Council, and Best Companies Group.

The statewide survey and awards program identifies, recognizes and honors the best places of employment in Illinois, benefiting the state's economy, workforce and businesses.

CompTIA is among the companies honored in the medium employer category, for organizations with 100 to 499 employees. A total of 75 companies are recognized as the Best Places to Work in Illinois for 2018.

“At CompTIA, we believe in a providing an environment that respects a work-life balance and keeps everyone energized, healthy and productive,” said Colleen Hughes, CompTIA’s senior vice president for human resources. “We’re honored to be recognized alongside so many other great organizations, each of which helps make Illinois a great place to do business in.”

CompTIA has approximately 200 U.S. employees, including 128 in its Downers Grove headquarters. The nonprofit association has been based in Illinois since 1985; and at its current headquarters location in Downers Grove since December 2010.

Companies from across the state entered a two-part process to determine the Best Places to Work in Illinois. First, each company’s workplace policies, practices and demographics were evaluated. The second part involved an employee survey to measure the employee experience. The combined scores determined the top companies and the final ranking.

The award-winning companies will be recognized and honored at the Best Places to Work in Illinois awards ceremony coordinated by The Daily Herald Business Ledger on May 17. They’ll also be profiled in a special publication on June 18.
