The Corps Network Applauds Passage of Build Back Better Act in U.S. House of Representatives

Among other measures, the legislation includes significant investments in AmeriCorps and federal resource management accounts that fund project partnerships with Corps organizations.

 

WASHINGTON, DC (November 19, 2021) – Today, the U.S. of House Representatives voted to pass the Build Back Better Act . This historic social funding bill will, among other measures, invests in a Civilian Climate Corps by increasing funding for AmeriCorps and several federal resource management accounts that fund project partnerships with Corps programs. The bill helps advance a plan outlined in President Joe Biden’s Build Back Better framework to invest in a “Civilian Climate Corps – with over 300,000 members that look like America.”

The Corps Network applauds movement on the Build Back Better Act and extends gratitude to the many champions in Congress who have helped advance a vision for a Civilian Climate Corps that is built on the existing infrastructure of national service and Conservation Corps programs nationwide. The Corps Network joined several national service partners in issuing this press release , including the following statement from Mary Ellen Sprenkel, President & CEO of The Corps Network :
