“The Corps Network endorses President Biden’s nomination of Michael Smith to head AmeriCorps. Mr. Smith ‘s career has been dedicated to bridging divides and uniting people to address tough problems. We are inspired by Mr. Smith ‘s commitment to social justice causes and look forward to seeing his vision for advancing equity through service. With his leadership experience with My Brother’s Keeper Alliance, the Social Innovation Fund, and the Case Foundation, Mr. Smith will bring important knowledge and perspective to the national service community as our country faces pressing challenges, including the COVID-19 recovery and climate change.”

The Corps Network has been an AmeriCorps National Direct Grantee for more than 20 years. During the 2021-2022 program year , The Corps Network’s AmeriCorps Education Award Program and Opportunity Youth Service Initiative will support more than 3,500 national service positions.
