ESPNs 2017 NCAA Division I Fall Sports Coverage


ESPN continues its dedication to Olympic sports with exclusive coverage of collegiate men’s and women’s soccer, women’s volleyball and water polo, across 13 conferences, televising more than 130 games across ESPN, ESPN2, ESPNU, SEC Network and Longhorn Network. Additional matchups will be available on ESPN3, SEC Network + and ACC Network Extra, giving viewers access to more than 1,000 games throughout the season.

ESPN continues its dedication to Olympic sports with exclusive coverage of collegiate men’s and women’s soccer, women’s volleyball and water polo, across 13 conferences, televising more than 130 games across ESPN, ESPN2, ESPNU, SEC Network and Longhorn Network. Additional matchups will be available on ESPN3, SEC Network + and ACC Network Extra, giving viewers access to more than 1,000 games throughout the season.

ESPNU will also televise a top water polo match on Sunday, Sept. 10 (1 p.m.), with UCLA facing Princeton.

SEC Network will provide extensive coverage of Southeastern Conference soccer and volleyball this season, with more than 70 matchups slated for SEC Network, as well as ESPNU, with additional games available on SEC Network +. Soccer and volleyball action will be available to fans every week, including Wednesday and Friday night volleyball, and Thursday night soccer. Additional details and full schedule is available here.

Longhorn Network will televise 14 Texas women’s volleyball matchups featuring four top-25 ranked teams. The action starts on Saturday, Aug. 26, at 7:30 p.m. ET when the No. 1 Longhorns take on the No. 18 Oregon Ducks. Full schedule here. ACC Network Extra will carry more than 350 men’s and women’s soccer matchups, featuring 25 ranked teams, as well as 160 volleyball matches. A complete schedule is available here.

More than 500 games are available throughout the season on ESPN3. America East, Atlantic Sun, Big 12, Big South, Big West, Horizon League, Ivy League, Metro Atlantic, Mid-American, Missouri Valley, Southland, Southern and Sun Belt Conference games, as well as a number of St. John’s matchups, will be played on ESPN3 and available to stream on the ESPN app.

Men and Women’s Soccer
As ESPN leads into its Men’s and Women’s College Cup coverage, it will televise more than 20 NCAA Division I men’s and women’s soccer games on ESPNU. Coverage will begin Sunday, Sept. 10, at 6 p.m. ET, with a women’s matchup featuring Virginia Tech at Tennessee. The first men’s game will be Sunday, Sept. 26, with Rutgers facing Princeton. Additional coverage highlights include several conference championships, including ACC and American Athletic championships.

  • Julie Foudy: Four-time NSCAA All-American at Stanford and member of the World Cup-winning 1999 United States Women’s National Team
  • Jillian Loyden: Four-year starter at Villanova, where she started all 62 career games, and member of the 2011 and 2012 United States Women’s National Team
  • Kate Markgraf: Part of the 1995 Notre Dame team that won the national championship and member of the World Cup-winning 1999 United States Women’s National Team
  • Heather Mitts: Three-Time Olympic Gold Medalist with United States Women’s National Team and All-American and 1998 National Champion at Florida
  • Cat Whitehill: Helped lead North Carolina to national championship title in 2000, earned the 2003 Hermann Trophy, and member of the United States Women’s National Team from 2000-10

Women’s Volleyball

ESPN will televise more than 30 regular season 2017 NCAA women’s volleyball matches, representing eight conferences. This year’s schedule boasts 17 of the top 25 ranked teams in the country, including No.1 Texas, defending national champion No. 2 Stanford, No.3 Washington, No. 4 Minnesota, and rounding out the top five, Nebraska. Coverage begins Wednesday, Sept. 20, on ESPNU with an SEC matchup between Tennessee and Arkansas. ESPN will also televise the NCAA Division I Volleyball Championship.
