Wilmington, N.C., United States., December 8, 2017 - (PressReleasePoint) - Glidebikes, creator of the original balance bicycle for kids, has rolled out a number of upgrades in time for the holiday shopping season. With three models in its fleet – the Mini Glider, Easy Glider and Go Glider – the popular company has announced several improvements to extend the ride.

"We really wanted to give Glidebike kids an empowering experience at every stage of their childhood," said CEO Ed Mondello. "Whether they're a toddler grabbing the handle bars for the first time or a young novice that loves cruising the neighborhood, our riders told us what they wanted in a bike, and we listened."

As a result, they've added some new features to the Glidebikes product line, including air tires and pedal assemblies that can be added after a child masters gliding, stopping and the rules of the road.

"All of our bikes come with our patented slow speed geometry, brakes, and foot rests," Mondello added.

Year after year, bicycles top the Christmas wish list of boys and girls across the United States. According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, around 33 million children ride bicycles each year for close to 10 billion hours. Glidebikes offers options for the youngest of those children – from toddlers all the way through the ranks of elementary school.

The EZee Glider is for kids 18 months to 4 years old. Its low stand-over and super light weight make it easy for first timers to master.

The Mini Glider is for toddlers, ages 2 to 5. It has air tires and spoked wheels, giving a smooth ride. It also offers the ability to add pedals.

The Go Glider is for kids, ages 5 -9, and can be modified into a bike with pedals or a scooter with a foot board.

"We're always looking for ways to 'extend the ride' so that our bikes can safely take kids from first-time gliders to avid bicyclists," Mondello said.
