Feeling Safe Amid Uncertainty
Garry Douglas is one who can appreciate a journey. He made his way from just outside the Saginaw Chippewa Indian Reservation near Mount Pleasant, Michigan, to Northern California in the early 1970s. He explored the majesty and mystery of national forests and grasslands through his job with the U.S. Forest Service. He travels the world with his wife, Stephanie Myers, to visit friends he’s made over the years.

Concerns over Getting Sick with COVID-19 and Paying for Health Care Disproportionately Affect Communities of Color
CHICAGO, June 16, 2020 – As evidence of racial disparities for the people infected with COVID-19 grows, concerns about getting sick and paying for health care disproportionately weigh on communities of color, according to a new AmeriSpeak® survey from NORC at the University of Chicago’s Medicaid Managed Care Organization Learning Hub. The survey also found that racial minorities are more concerned about getting sick with COVID-19 than white individuals.

A new chart collection explores the impact of the coronavirus pandemic on the U.S. health care workforce, and finds that between February and April 2020, nearly 1.5 million health care jobs were lost.
