Information Technology Services (ITS) have some updates and information to assist staff in adjusting to working from home during the remote campus period.

Staff will be informed via email when their equipment is ready and given directions for pick up. An appointment will be made in order to ensure access to the counter is restricted to one staff member at a time.

ITS opens a shopfront at Barry Drive

On Monday April 6, ITS will be opening a shopfront to allow staff to pick up their IT equipment orders and return any faulty equipment. Staff will be informed via email when their equipment is ready and given directions for pick up. An appointment will be made in order to ensure access to the counter is restricted to one staff member at a time.

Directions to the shopfront can be found here

Free parking is available across the street in the Lena Karmel parking lot or on the corner of Barry Drive and Watson St.

Please note that ITS staff members will be following strict COVID-19 hygiene protocol, including wearing disposable gloves and a face mask. ITS staff will also ensure the counter is wiped down after each equipment collection appointment.

The Barry Drive shopfront will remain open by appointment throughout the campus lock down, Government directives permitting.

Update on equipment orders

ITS have received orders for over 800 separate pieces of equipment in the transition to working from home. We will continue to fill these orders as quickly as possible; however, please be mindful that worldwide shortages have greatly affected supply. To date, only 25% of the equipment ordered has arrived.

While we may be unable to fill your order with originally selected items, we currently have excess stock for other items. Given this, we are asking for your flexibility in accepting suggested alternatives if required. An ITS staff member will contact you directly if a swap is necessary for your order. Your cooperation in helping us fill as many orders as possible during this supply shortage is greatly appreciated.

We would like to thank ANU staff for their patience in dealing with these unavoidable supply related delays. We ask that you please refrain from contacting the ITS Service Desk to follow up on existing orders as this reduces the team's capacity to fill those orders where equipment is available and ready. Currently, we are processing 200 laptops which will be ready for collection in approximately two weeks. The team will contact you with any updates on your order and will notify you when your items are ready for collection.

We are working hard to fill orders as efficiently as possible given the circumstances and appreciate your understanding.

If you find that you no longer require previously ordered items, please contact William.Howe@anu.edu.au to allow the equipment to be distributed to other staff as required.

Registering ANU equipment taken home

If you have ANU IT equipment in your home, it is important that we know. Please ensure you log the equipment in the register here.

More information about working from home can be found here.
