WASHINGTON - This week, U.S. Secretary of the Interior David L. Bernhardt was on the road again, conducting site inspections at National Parks and National Wildlife Refuges. The Secretary met with park superintendents and refuge managers to see firsthand how they are safely restoring access to America?s public lands. An overwhelming majority of Interior-managed public lands continue to be accessible to the public with additional opportunities becoming available each day as the Department works alongside governors to Open Up America Again .

MELS UPDATE: COVID-19 Eviction Protection and Rent Hardship
DC 37’s Municipal Employees Legal Services (MELS) is here to help members with housing and rent hardship needs. Although New York City remains on pause through at least May 15, 2020 and Courthouses remain closed, the Office of Court Administration is accepting emergency applications where there has been an eviction, illegal lockout, interruption in essential services or emergency conditions that need repair.

Salt Lake City, UT— Ahead of Utah’s June and September Bureau of Land Management (BLM) oil and gas lease sales, Utah organizations called on BLM Acting State Director Anita Bilbao and Secretary of the Interior David Bernhardt to suspend public comment periods, rulemakings, and other actions as communities face the coronavirus crisis.
