USDA Approves South Dakota to Accept SNAP Benefits Online
This approval will allow South Dakota to expedite the implementation of online purchasing with currently authorized SNAP online retailers with a target start date to be announced at a later time. South Dakota’s SNAP participation is more than 75,000 individuals, more than 35,000 households, and totals $122 million annually in federal benefits. This announcement further demonstrates President Trump’s whole of America approach to fighting the coronavirus pandemic by ensuring those affected are fed.

Natural gas storage capacity remains relatively unchanged in 2019
The U.S. Energy Information Administration’s (EIA) two metrics for assessing 2019 underground working natural gas storage capacity in the Lower 48 states compared with the previous year show mixed results: one metric reported a small increase and the other a small decrease. EIA measures working natural gas storage capacity in two ways: design capacity and demonstrated peak capacity. In 2019, EIA estimates that maximum working natural gas storage capacity measured by design capacity was 4,693 billion cubic feet (Bcf) and was 4,261 Bcf measured by demonstrated peak capacity.

U.S. natural gas storage capacity remained relatively unchanged in 2019
Underground natural gas storage capacity in the Lower 48 states has remained relatively flat since 2012. The U.S. Energy Information Administration (EIA) measures working natural gas storage capacity in two ways: design capacity and demonstrated peak capacity. Both measures of capacity were relatively unchanged in 2019; design capacity declined 0.4% and demonstrated peak capacity increased 0.1% compared with 2018. For the sixth year in a row, no new storage fields were completed.
