Regence, Providence And The Portland Coordinated Care Association (PCCA) Announce Medicare HMO Network Partnership

Portland — Regence BlueCross BlueShield of Oregon today announced a partnership with Providence Health & Services and the Portland Coordinated Care Association (PCCA) as part of its Medicare HMO network. Regence’s BlueAdvantage HMO network includes physicians from The Portland Clinic, as well as other PCCA partners such as South Tabor Family Physicians, Westside Internal Medicine and Davies Clinic.

This partnership will promote primary care physician relationships with Regence Medicare members in Multnomah, Washington and Clackamas counties with the goal of creating better health outcomes and lowering the total cost of care. If needed, members may access receive inpatient and outpatient hospital care at Providence.

“Today’s announcement allows our Medicare members to access high-quality care that delivers greater value for their dollar. Through mutual accountability and shared quality metrics, I’m confident that this partnership will drive significant results,” said Angela Dowling, president of Regence BlueCross BlueShield of Oregon.

“This partnership will provide our senior population the opportunity to build relationships with quality physicians and allow them to conveniently access specialty services at a better value,” said Dick Clark, chief executive officer of The Portland Clinic.

In 2017, Regence’s Medicare Advantage HMO plan in Oregon earned 4 Stars as a part of the CMS Star Ratings*, which reflects a commitment to drive high-quality health care, close care gaps and transform the consumer experience.

*Medicare evaluates plans based on a 5-star rating system. Star Ratings are calculated each year and may change from one year to the next.
