BROWNSVILLE, Texas — Today, Texas Democratic Party Chair Gilberto Hinojosa and Vice Chair Shay Wyrick Cathey formally announced their endorsements of Dan Sanchez, Democratic candidate for Congress in a special election for Texas’ 34th Congressional District. Early voting is underway, and Election Day is on Tuesday, June 14.
Texas Democratic Party Chairman Gilberto Hinojosa issued the following statement regarding Dan Sanchez: “Dan Sanchez is a devoted public servant and a proud son of the Rio Grande Valley. As a product of this community myself, I know Dan is the best candidate to represent us in Congress. Republicans have shown they are more interested in using our communities for political talking points than actually improving the lives of working-class Hispanic families in South Texas. They can’t be trusted to work for us. We need a leader like Dan who understands the everyday struggles of our community. I know that when he is elected, he will be a steadfast fighter for the Valley.”
Texas Democratic Party Vice Chair Shay Wyrick Cathey issued the following statement regarding Dan Sanchez: “I’m proud to join Chairman Hinojosa in endorsing Dan Sanchez for Congress. Dan has a proven record of service to his community, and the experience to hit the ground running once elected. That’s why Democrats are united in supporting Dan’s campaign.”
