About Government Accountability Project
As a rule, whistleblowers are ostracized, alienated, and isolated. And yet, despite this clear history of disincentives, whistleblowers have done anything but retreat. Indeed, by every measure, whistleblowing is on the rise. In 2013, whistleblower tips to the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) rose 8% over the previous year.* Similarly, from 2009 to 2013, whistleblower complaints to the Department of Defense (DoD) soared 125%.* Whistleblowers will not be silent. Moreover, they are not alone in this fight. It is the mission of the Government Accountability Project (GAP) to give voice to and vigorously defend these individuals who would risk everything for the truth.
